Kenderline third after strirring show

HALESOWEN Athletic Club’s Tom Kenderline put in a sterling performance to finish third in the Midland Masters cross-country championship.
Kenderline completed the eight-kilometre Droitwich course in 29 minutes 53 seconds and also finished third in the over-35s category.
Halesowen’s Paul Allen, competing over 6km, finished seventh in the over-65s event in 28.37.
Julie Dale clocked 29.46 as she came fourth in the over-40s event.
Last weekend, the club’s girls under-15s finished fourth in the Midland Counties cross-country championships.
The quartet of Phoebe Dodd, Lydia Wilkinson and sisters Beth and Hannah Sharkey were the best placed of all Halesowen teams in the event at Nottingham’s Wollaton Park.
There was a solid performance from the under-15 boys squad of Dominic Bill, Sam Effiong, Jack Holman and Joshua Timmins, who came fifth.
