Tennis club awarded
11:40am Saturday 13th March 2010

BUDDING Andy Murrays can hone their serving skills at a revamped Quarry bank Tennis Club.
The Talbots Lane venue are hoping to welcome in a new dawn after recently being awarded the prestigious LTA Clubmark Award.
Coaching has been restructured with the creation of the Prosser Tennis Academy, run by former county champions Stacey and Nikki Prosser.
The duo are hoping to attract a wide range of new players to the sport, from juniors through to adults.
Club chairman Phil Prosser said: “The Clubmark award is a great achievement for a club our size, you have to abide by so many rules.
“Stacey and Nikki have both worked hard to set up the academy, we want to show that tennis is not a dying sport.
“We hope a new generation will learn to love the game.”
The Academy kicked things off with a 12 hour marathon on Saturday as part of the clubmark accreditation.
Membership at QBTC is available from £30 for juniors and £95 for adults.
