Eyesore Stourbridge car park could bow out with a bang

THE Stourbridge skyline could change with a bang after it emerged Bell Street car park might be blown up.
The shabby multi-storey is set to close within weeks to make way for a new Tesco supermarket and demolition work looks likely to be carried out using explosives.
Demolishing the eyesore building by conventional means would mean weeks of lane closures on Stourbridge ring road so bosses are considering by bringing the building down quickly with a blast.
Dudley Council's leader, Cllr Les Jones, said: "This would be a good way to show the future is coming and cause the least disruption in the town.
"I am really hoping to get the opportunity to press the button."
