Clent performers gambling on success of Guys and Dolls

CLENT based C.O.M.I.C. Theatre Company is staging Guys And Dolls this month.

The play, about a New York gambler challenged to take a female missionary to Havana, will run at Sunfield Community Theatre, Woodman Lane, Clent, from Thursday February 16 to Saturday February 18.

Featuring popular songs including Luck Be a Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ The Boat, I’ve Never Been in Love Before and If I Were a Bell - the show is being directed by dance teacher and performing arts lecturer Paul Hutton.

C.O.M.I.C. chairman Jessie Hartley said: “Guys and Dolls has been a wonderful show to be involved in, with show-stopping music and lively dance numbers that have challenged us all and pushed us to new heights.

“We are all very excited and are now ready to bring Guys and Dolls to Clent.”

Performances start at 7.30pm nightly and there will also be a Saturday matinee show on February 18.

C.O.M.I.C.has been staging musicals at Sunfield since 2001 when its production of Robert and Elizabeth marked the official opening of the new community venue.

Since then it has performed Oklahoma, South Pacific, Fiddler on the Roof, The Boy Friend and Hello, Dolly! and Crazy For You and Sweet Charity to packed houses.

Tickets for Guys and Dolls are available from Tricia Bradbury on 01562 730381.
