Jewellery stolen in Kingswinford burglary
9:00am Saturday 28th January 2012
A TREASURED gold locket and a £300 gold Rotary watch were among items taken in a Kingswinford burglary.
The incident happened on Saturday January 14 between 6.30pm and 10pm at a property in Summercourt Drive.
Detective Constable Louise Davis, of Dudley CID, said the offenders managed to gain entry to the property through a ground floor kitchen window and, after searching the upstairs, they managed to escape with a number of jewellery items.
Among them was a large gold locket, about three inches long and two inches wide, embossed with a swirl pattern and with two family photos inside.
DC Davis said: "The owner had also painted the back of the locket with a clear pink nail varnish to stop the colour from rubbing on her clothes."
A £300 ladies gold Rotary watch and a cream jewellery box was also stolen in the burglary.
Detectives at Dudley CID now want to speak to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or anyone who has recently come into possession of a locket matching the description.
Residents with information can contact Dudley CID at Brierley Hill Police Station on 0345 113 5000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
