Senior nurses stand out from the crowd
12:00pm Sunday 14th March 2010

SENIOR nursing staff at Russells Hall Hospital are standing out from the crowds with new uniforms to help make them more recognisable to patients.
Members of the Dudley Group of Hospitals’ Professional Development Team can now be spotted in the distinctive white uniform with red and blue lapels.
The staff play a vital role in teaching and passing on skills and experience to trainee and newly qualified nurses.
Nursing director Denise McMahon, said the new uniform had been created to make the staff more recognisable to patients and other members of staff.
She said: “Although the staff do a lot of work behind the scenes, they still work on the wards with patients,” “A lot of their training work that used to be done in a classroom environment is now being done on the wards with patients.
“They play a vital role in training the nurses of the future, as well as working on the wards with patients.”
